How to turn it off

Applies to VIDAA, recent Hisense sets
- Open Settings, then System
- Open Advanced Settings. Newer sets call this Advanced System.
- Open Enhanced Viewing
- Turn "Automatic Content Recognition" off
- Picture Mode Auto Adaptation and Sound Mode Auto Adaptation grey out when you do. That is expected, and it is the point.
Older firmware

- Turn "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" on
Other switches and limits
- RTINGS found content recognition offered as an "Enhanced (ACR)" picture mode on a Hisense 32A4NV, with a prompt that described only the picture and sound benefit. Hisense's manuals likewise tie the Auto picture and sound modes to Enhanced Viewing.
- These paths come from Hisense's own manuals and privacy notices. We have not yet confirmed them on a set in front of us, so the menu may be named differently on your firmware or in your country.
- An earlier version of this page gave a different path, using labels that turned out to belong to Samsung and LG rather than Hisense. It was wrong and we replaced it. If your menu does not match what is above, tell us and we will check it again.
- Hisense sells the same model numbers on Roku, Google TV, Fire TV and VIDAA. We use the network fingerprint to tell them apart; if this looks wrong, tap Report.
Keep it off with The Box
Updates can move the switch. The Box blocks the tracking on your network instead. It is not built yet.
